48 years ago this week back in 1976...Blue Oyster Cult released their fourth studio album..."Agents Of Fortune"...on Columbia Records....which to this day remains their best selling album of all time! "Agents Of Fortune" was a real break through record for Blue Oyster Cult thrusting the band into the mainstream of rock...where as the band had previously been viewed primarily as a heavy metal act. The album's success was propelled by the very successful track..."Don't Fear the Reaper"...which received heavy FM Rock radio airplay in the summer of 1976 and continues to do so to this day on most Classic Rock stations. The band also became a much bigger concert attraction after the release of "Agents Of Fortune" as well. The record also featured new wave/punk rock artist Patti Smith who had just recently released her first record on the track "The Revenge of Vera Gemini"... JKC
